Why are kidz important to us? … because they're important to Jesus.
Jesus set the precedent for children's ministry. In Matthew 19:13-15, we see a group of parents bringing their children to Jesus so He would bless them.
The disciples stopped these parents, saying Jesus was too busy; but Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Here at First Baptist Church, we follow that teaching of Jesus. We want our children from birth on up, to have the opportunity to come to Jesus, to learn about Him, and to grow in their relationship with Him.
This website was created to give people who care about kidz a place to come and get information about our children's ministry, to learn what's happening this month, and to find some resources that I have found to be very helpful.

What is Kingdom Kidz? …
Kingdom Kidz is a comprehensive educational ministry for children at all ages of development, from birth thru 6th grade.
On Sunday morning, our Elementary Aged children come together at 9:00am and at 10:45am for Sunday School. Following the "Large Group/Small Group" model, we meet together in a large group to open our day's session. Using drama, music, science, and play we use child-focused, multi-sensory curriculum with children to be fully engaged in the bible lesson rather than being observers of it. We follow this with more age/grade specific small groups where the kids will get a chance to go deeper and find strength and encouragement from their peers.
Every day, children are bombarded with the things of this world that go against their belief in God. Here, at First Baptist Church, we are training up kidz to put on the "Armor of God", as described in Ephesians 6:13, so they can stand up for their faith and live their lives for Christ. My prayer is that by the time they graduate from 6th grade, they will be equipped with the full armor of God to face the challenges that Middle School brings to their faith.
We want our children to do more than learn about God,
but to live their lives for God.
Our Kingdom Kidz ministry is made up of several different components

Lil' Kidz: Ministry to infants and toddlers (0 - 5 yrs. old)

Kingdom Kidz: Our elementary-aged program on Sunday mornings.

Kidz in Art: Our mid-week program for elementary-aged children. From 6:30 - 7:30 pm , we meet for Bible Study and then from 7:30 - 8:30 pm we will be having drama, puppet, and music rehearsals. This is a great night for kids to go deeper in their walk with the Lord and to learn how to use their talents to serve and worship Him. Come and join us, won't you?

Special Events: Throughout the year, our Children's Ministry hosts several child-focused outreach events including Vacation bible School, Kingdom Fest (Halloween-Alternative Party), Christmas Activities, Easter Egg Hunt and more.
